Serving clients across Ontario

From our office in Toronto, we act for individuals and businesses throughout Ontario, including the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton and the Golden Horseshoe, Ottawa and Eastern Ontario, Southwestern Ontario and Central and Northern Ontario.

One office. The whole province.

Ontario litigation is no longer tied to one courthouse door. Many steps now happen in writing or by video, and we attend in person wherever a hearing requires it.

Working with us from anywhere in Ontario.

  1. Consult

A consultation by phone or video, with the lawyer who would be responsible for your matter.

  2. Documents

Agreements, correspondence and records exchanged electronically, so nothing waits on travel.

  3. Court

We appear in writing or by video where the court or the client directs, and in person wherever a hearing requires it.

Courts across Ontario.

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court sit in every region of the province, so most disputes are heard in the region connected to them. Appeals go to the Divisional Court or the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Questions we are often asked.

Do I need a lawyer from my own city?

No. A lawyer licensed by the Law Society of Ontario can act for you anywhere in Ontario. What matters most is experience with your type of dispute and a clear plan for how the matter will be run.

Will I have to travel to Toronto?

Usually not. Consultations can take place by phone or video, documents can be exchanged electronically, and court steps take place where the proceeding is, many of them in writing or by video.

Where will my case be heard?

Ontario courts sit in every region. A claim is started in a court location chosen when it is issued, often the one connected to the parties or the dispute, and a court can move a case to a more suitable location.

Do you act in Small Claims Court outside Toronto?

Yes. Small Claims Court sits across Ontario, and we act in it for claims from throughout the province, attending in person wherever a hearing requires it.

Do you use artificial intelligence (AI) in your work?

Yes, carefully. Ocean leads and reviews every matter. Secure, business-grade AI tools help with routine tasks such as organising documents, with client confidentiality protected throughout and in keeping with the Law Society of Ontario’s rules.
